Passion

http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/steps/pas
What is most beautiful and sacred to you? What would you feel incomplete without? When you have identified that which brings you complete joy, your own unquenchable desire to achieve that goal will become your passion --- the inner drive that turn your dreams into a shining reality.

God often brings about this change through the buffing of hardship and
trials, for pressure has a way of loosening the dirt and grime of rebellion and
selfishness. The Bible tells us that tribulation produces perseverance,
character, hope, and confidence by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:3-5).

Power of Three

Doing LaTeX on Windows can be a pain. Well that's until you discover the power of three(TM) :)

- MikTeX (http://www.miktex.org)
- TeXnikCenter (http://www.toolscenter.org)
- Dr. Wilkin's LaTeX Primer (http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~dwilkins/LaTeXPrimer/)

They're all free, btw. ;)

A Difficult Hill

The Creator of the ends of the earth neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

- Isaiah 40:28-31
Because we so easily misjudge life's difficulties, we need courage to keep going when we are tempted to quit. Take a step of faith today and join those who depend on the Lord, who run and are not weary, who walk and do not faint (v.31). In His strength, you can conquer any difficult hill. —DCM

As we live for Christ and follow Him,
The way may seem quite steep;
But if we trust His grace and strength,
Our steps He'll guide and keep. —Fitzhugh

Getting Back Perspective

I don't have much time these days (or any day for that matter). I've been busy looking at my to-do list, at my calendar, scheduling meetings, scheduling when to do what. My outlook calendar is so filled with stuff that events and items that I get a minor claustrophobia just by looking at it. :)

I've been so busy that I forgot what "not-busy" feels like... and this is a bad thing. Like the compulsive junk-food eater who is slowly losing his health not realizing that it'll eventually lead him to obesity, I've been busy-ing myself all the way.. not really realizing where I'm heading towards.

Let's just say that my life has a pretty high attrition level at this point. and when you're under so much attrition, you can only focus on "what now?", "what's next?", without really looking too much into the future. My life is a battle-field. I live to aim, shoot, and move forward, not knowing where and when the end of the battle will be. The battle is mental, physical, and intellectual.

But I think I've been so engrossed in the battles that I've totally forgotten what the war is all about. I need to get that big picture back. I need to regain my perspective. The hard thing about perspectives is that they're not what that you can get in a day. A perspective is a way to look at something. And me having lost it is like a blind man trying to get his sight back.
